CyberSync ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile application CyberSync ("the App") handles your information. It is designed to meet Google Play Store requirements regarding user data and permissions.

// DATA COLLECTION

Information You Provide

• Network Share Credentials: Username and password for connecting to your network shares. These are stored locally on your device only and are never transmitted to us.
• Configuration Settings: Your sync preferences, folder paths, and app settings. All stored locally.

Information We Do NOT Collect

• Personal information (name, email, phone)
• Location data
• Contact information
• Analytics or usage data
• Advertising identifiers
• Device identifiers
• Browsing history
• Any data shared with third parties

// DATA STORAGE

All data is stored locally on your device only:

• Network credentials are stored in the app's private storage area.
• Sync configuration is stored in local JSON files.
• Cached thumbnails are stored temporarily in the app cache.
• No data is transmitted to any servers.

// NETWORK COMMUNICATION

CyberSync only communicates with:

• Your specified network shares via SMB (Server Message Block) protocol.
• Communication occurs only on your local network or VPN.
• No data is sent to CyberSync servers (we have none).
• No third-party services are contacted.

// PERMISSIONS

The app requests the following permissions to function as intended:

Permission	Purpose
Internet	Connect to network shares on your local network.
Network State / WiFi State	Check network and WiFi connectivity for WiFi-only sync option.
Storage / Manage All Files	Read and write files for synchronization (All Files Access on Android 11+).
Media Permissions	Access images, video, and audio on Android 13+.
Notifications	Show sync progress and completion status (Android 13+).
Foreground Service (Data Sync)	Run background sync operations reliably.
Wake Lock	Keep device awake during active file transfers.
Battery Optimization Exemption	Request exemption so background sync is not interrupted.

// USB BACKUP

CyberSync can back up files from your device to a USB OTG drive. All data is copied directly between your device and the USB drive. No data passes through any external server during a USB backup.

// DATA SECURITY

• Credentials are stored in Android's app-private storage (not accessible to other apps).
• Network communication uses SMB protocol with encryption when supported by your server.
• No cloud backup of sensitive configuration data.
• Data is encrypted at rest when device encryption is enabled.
• Cloud backup of app data is disabled (allowBackup=false).

// CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

CyberSync is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. The app is designed for adult users managing their own file synchronization needs.

// YOUR RIGHTS

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control:

• Access: All your settings and data are visible within the app.
• Modify: Change or remove your credentials and settings anytime.
• Delete: Uninstall the app to completely remove all data.
• Export: Your files remain on your device and network shares.

// THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

CyberSync does NOT include:

• Analytics SDKs (Google Analytics, Firebase, etc.)
• Advertising SDKs
• Crash reporting services
• Social media integrations
• Any third-party tracking code

// POLICY CHANGES

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be:

• Posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
• Effective immediately upon posting.
• Notified through app updates when significant changes occur.
